Project Highlights

A New  Modern Hillside Home built from the ground up With sweeping views of  the Sonoma Valley on 3 levels.

An opportunity to build anew on over an acre and half of land and secluded ravine. A dramatic 3 storied glass stair tower leading to a Viewing Platform and Roof Deck becomes the centerpiece of the Modern Home.  The Stair Tower is featured as you enter the Home, viewed through expansive windows and an exterior court that features a custom Jacuzzi water feature.  The Main Living/Dining Kitchen space create a Pavilion with a 24 foot wide x 10 foot tall window wall that opens to an expansive Deck, a walk-able garden, and expansive views of the Sonoma Valley beyond.  The Master Bedroom Suite is conveniently located on the Main Level, private from the main entertaining and public spaces.  The Lower Level is devoted to Guest Bedrooms and Wine Cellar.

The solution to the design problem  included orienting the main space towards a direct view of the expansive Sonoma Valley view, while making use of an existing walk-able building pad.  A unique, subtle angle was introduced  to orient the lower story Guest Bedroom wing towards the steep ravine.  This allowed the design to make use of the existing site topography.  No costly excavation or  retaining walls were needed to implement the design.

Green Building features include an All Electric Home with a high efficiency heat pump.  The home will be powered by expansive Solar Panels.  Recycled Cellulose blown-in insulation and low E energy efficient Windows will be used throughout.
