A 400 square foot Addition and Complete House Remodel to  a Turn of the Century Coach House in San Francisco’s Haight District

The Owner initially envisioned a 3rd Story Addition. This would have proven cost prohibitive and problematic from a planning standpoint. A 2 Story Addition while replacing the Outdoor Open Space with an airy, sunny Roof Deck was the solution. A dramatic Spiral Staircase is suspended over the Existing Staircase, winding through the Levels of the Existing House to the New Roof Deck above. A New Bedroom, Family Room, Bath and Widow’s Peak was added. The existing Main Level and Kitchen was completely remodeled, Opening up the Space and allowing Sunlight in.

Client Testimonial:

“We hired Andy to design an addition and ended up doing a to-the-studs remodel of the lower level of our home–a rear carriage house behind a Victorian. Andy has guided us through every step of this very complicated process, through the design, approval, permitting, hiring a contractor and build. He has a great design eye and a great ear for his clients’ tastes.”
